Our Paddle Board Rentals and Adventure Journey in Mesa, Arizona
Gary Krauser, the owner of Canyon Paddle, was born and raised in Tempe and Mesa, Arizona. Growing up, he spent weekends exploring Canyon and Saguaro lakes, cultivating a deep connection to Arizona’s rivers. His passion for water adventures extended beyond Arizona, with summers in San Diego, where he surfed and snorkeled along the coast. After learning Spanish in Bolivia and settling in Gilbert, AZ, Gary’s love for paddleboarding continued to grow.
Exploring Paddle Boarding Through the Years
In 2010, we embarked on our first canoe trip down the Salt River. Since then, we’ve introduced countless others to the magic of Arizona’s rivers. While we started with canoes, our real love for the river was sparked in 2011 when we discovered kayaking. The paddle boarding era officially began in 2017, when we realized just how immersive it is to stand and paddle, taking in panoramic views of the river’s beauty.
2024: The Closest Paddle Board Shop to Salt River
In March 2024, we completed the acquisition of AZ Kayaks and proudly moved into our new shop at Ellsworth and Brown. This move positioned us as the closest paddle board rental shop to Salt River, Saguaro Lake, and Canyon Lake—making it easier than ever for you to get out on the water.
